Peggy Won A Giveaway!
Peggy, co-owner of WOCS, won a fabulous giveaway - some beautiful hand-dyed fabric by Jackie White of Jackie's Art Quilts. You can visit her Etsy Shop to see all her fabulous hand-dyed fabrics. Peggy sent this fabric over to our quilter Bonnie who is going to use it in our Birds and Crosses quilt for a lady with MS who lives at the nursing home we support. Here at WOCS, we all enter fabric giveaways as it helps so much to win quilting fabric!

A Wonderful Fabric Donation
We received a wonderful donation of fabric from Jan Schillo today. 30 fat quarters of beautiful vintage style fabrics. I have wrapped them on comic book backboards so I can place them on a shelf and be able to easily choose the right color. This will help us make so many quilts, totes, and more to donate to adults and children in 2012. Thank you Jan!

Welcome To The Blog Hop Party! (Dec. 10 -17)
THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED!
Hello fellow hoppers! And welcome to World of Charity Stitching. We are a group of ladies who make quilts, totes, walker bags, wheelchair bags, pillows and more from cross stitch squares. The ladies pick a theme to stitch from our database and when finished, they send it in and we make quilts and more for nursing homes, domestic violence shelter, and Ronald McDonald House.
This is one of the Garden quilts which have been quilted by Bonnie and her quilting machine, Nellie Belle. This quilt and 11 others will be deliver to Century Care Center with tote bags and more. Two quilts have already been delivered this month to Ronald McDonald House and two have already been given to Favor House for Christmas. Favor House, a domestic violence shelter, will receive filled tote bags for all the children too.
We decided to join the Blog Hop Party first because it's just too much fun! Secondly, we wanted to introduce ourselves to future sponsors, stitchers, sew-ers and quilters who might be interested in donating their time, talent and supplies to bring smiles to the faces of children and adults.
So beginning Saturday, December 10, here's what we would like to give away. A $50 gift certificate to the Fat Quarter Shop donated by the Fat Quarter Shop. Who doesn't love the Fat Quarter Shop! These ladies have to be the most generous online fabric store especially when it comes to giveaways. Fat quarters, jelly rolls, layer cakes and more - you can spend the whole day just browsing through all the wonderful pre-cut fabric. And the patterns - I want them all!
Here's how to win. Remember, do not enter until Saturday, December 10 or it will not count.

WARM QUILTS AND SMILING FACES!
Twelve warm quilts equals twelve smiling faces! This is part of our Christmas delivery to Century Care Center. Bonnie (and Nellie Belle) worked feverishly to get these quilted in time for delivery. A HUGE THANK YOU to all of the ladies who stitched the beautiful cross stitch pieces, to the ladies who sewed together the quilt tops and to Bonnie & her wonderful quilting machine (Nellie) for quilting each one. Warms your heart just to look at their beauty and see what all of you have accomplished for those in the nursing home. This will be a very special Christmas.

THANK YOU EVERYONE!
The holidays are fast approaching and we are in the home stretch to finish our gifts for Favor House, Ronald McDonald House, and Century Care Center. The fun has already begun however. Two quilts were delivered to Favor House and two more to Ronald McDonald House along with two pillows. Twelve therapy pillows brought smiles to the faces of seniors at Century Care.
Finishes during November include: 25 bookmarks, 18 quilt/other squares, 2 totes, 4 quilts yet to be delivered, 1 quilt top, 2 wheelchair bags, and 6 other items. Several members have contributed many gift items to help fill the tote bags made for Favor House and Century Care too. Seven new members joined us this month.
We have five quilts ready to be delivered. Eleven more are still in progress and we expect to have at least 6 of these finished in time for December delivery. The remaining five, in various stages of completion, will probably be finalized next year.
