This is one of
our newest quilt themes, the Brushstroke Butterfly. It is a free chart
offered by Loretta Oliver at Stitching the Night Away.
If you've ever
stitched this beautiful butterfly, you know how pretty it is. It is a
fairly quick piece to stitch and you can use just about any color you
like.
One of our members, Charity, has a son, Gavin, who stitched one of these butterflies. Gavin is 9 years old and has been stitching since he was 7. Isn't that amazing?
So, if you'd like to try your hand at stitching one of these for our charity quilts, please join our group. You'll love seeing your stitched square on a quilt. You can join us by clicking here.

One of our members stitched bookmarks to be given to the seniors on Valentine's Day.
The members of our group decided to stitch some beautiful Valentine Cards for the seniors at Century Care Center.
One of our members made small Heart Sachets. One member donated a batch of shampoos and conditioners that were put in small bags to be donated also. And one member created a beautiful Valentine Wreath.
These gifts will be delivered tomorrow on Valentine's Day to the seniors to help brighten their days.
This was a simple fun project. I know the seniors will appreciate their special gifts.
These are just a few of the Encouraging Words squares stitched by our members for the Sandy Hook School Quilt that we are making for one of the family members of the victims.
We hope it will bring a little comfort to the family of the loved one they lost in this terrible tragedy.
